There is a very special scent in the air!

25.04.2022

Fresh air for a better quality of life - for 40 years Falmec successfully developed worldwide with this mission.

Falmec cooker hoods ensure clean air in the kitchen and on the stove all over the world.

As much as cooking odors can be unpleasant and annoying, kitchen scents can also evoke positive emotions.

For a new social media campaign in the German-speaking markets, we are asking opinion leaders from the culinary world about their special experiences.

Mario Gamba, the only Italian Michelin-starred chef in Germany, will kick things off.

We have found in Mario Gamba a partner in Germany who celebrates Italian cuisine at the highest level with ‘joie de vivre’, lightness and passion.

He fits perfectly with our values and his cooking is as straightforward and unfussy as our design.

Culinary themes at Falmec

Cooker hoods have long been part of the basic equipment in the kitchen.

For well-being, they absorb annoying odors from cooking pots and pans.

But kitchen scents can also evoke emotions and memories and convey a sense of security.

The smell of freshly baked bread, a favorite cake or of baking cookies on special occasions and the smell of cabbage rolls reminds us of lunches at grandmother's; or grilled dorade evokes the feeling of well-being from the last vacation on the Mediterranean.

This is the basic idea behind the campaign, which links the Italian company with culinary culture for the first time.

Inspired by a German hit from the 50s that tells of a special fragrance in the air, Falmec asks opinion leaders, who deal with culinary topics, for a special scent from the kitchen that awakens their emotions.

Cucina del Sole – the cooking philosophy of Mario Gamba

To launch the campaign, Falmec visited Michelin-starred chef Mario Gamba in Munich.

His Michelin-starred restaurant Acquarello is widely known for its Cucina del Sole.

"It is also a Cucina dei Sensi, a cuisine of the senses," says the internationally multi-award-winning star chef Mario Gamba, who hails from Bergamo.

For Mario Gamba, the art of cooking must ignite a firework of sensory impressions, with images, scents, and palate experiences.

He offers a refined yet light cuisine, where the ingredients are the stars on the plate, they are presented in a straightforward yet artistic way.

Asked for an emotional memory of a particular aroma from the kitchen, he immediately thinks of the three-star chef of his childhood: "The first dish I was very aware of was my mother's gnocchi al pomodoro.

The scent of the long-simmering tomato sauce, the velvety texture of the potatoes.

I've never experienced that depth of flavor again in any restaurant in the world."

Perfect match

Falmec launches a campaign with star chef Mario Gamba, whose ambitious and unpretentious cooking perfectly matches the values of the Italian ventilation expert.

Ambitious cooking

Star chef Mario Gamba fits perfectly with the values of the Italian ventilation expert.

As a prelude to the joint social media campaign, he presents the dish pea-mint gnocchi with calamaretti as a fine variation on the classic gnocchi al pomodoro.
